Today I thought I would share some of the ideas I used for bridal shower games for my future daughter-n-laws. Of course you know both of my sons are getting married this year {wedding #1 is in 2 1/2 weeks & wedding #2 is in 5 1/2 weeks!} {See Bridal Shower #1 here and Bridal Shower #2 here.
One of the brides loved having games and one did not, so these ideas worked out for both! We decided to think of a game which would be fun as well as create a keepsake for the girls homes.
For shower #1 I purchased a plate from the Dollar Tree
I got a plate holder at Hobby Lobby to display the plate in their future home.
Using colored permanent markers, guests were to write one word which describes a perfect marriage. We passed the palate around as we all enjoyed our refreshments and it made for a great gift and conversation starter between guests! And a great keepsake to display in her home!
For the second shower I took a wine bottle and removed the label. Then we told the guests to write one word which describes a happy marriage. Make sure to use a dark-colored wine bottle for this one so the writing will show up. I also bought pens made to write on wine bottles at Michaels Stores.
I then purchased an awesome shoe wine bottle holder and matching bottle stopper from Kirkland’s to display this treasure in their home.
I glued stickers I had in my Scrapbooking pile to the top and bottom of the bottle with Aleene’s Jewel-It Embellishing Glue {sold at craft stores} so they would remain secure!
Both of the game ideas went over well and both of the brides enjoyed the great keepsake they could take home to cherish for years to come!
Do you have any unique ideas you have done for a shower? I would love to hear them. Jump on over to the Facebook page and let me know!
I am pinning more fun things for Bridal showers and more on Pinterest! Come on over and let’s share!
Until next time,
Enjoy your day, your family, and your home! ❤

Did you put some type of top coat on the plate to seal the marker to prevent fading?

Nichole,
Thanks for stopping by! No I did not, we used permanent colored markers. She will be displaying this in her home. So I don’t think it will fade.

Thanks, I know my sister tried doing something similar with mugs and the marker has started to fade. I think we may give it a try anyway for the bride to be. Thanks for the idea!
